Ok, Spaß beiseite. Ist das ein echter Demerara? Beim ersten war es ja ein Caroni-Finish, wo man nie genau weiß wie nass das Fass noch war oder wie groß die Pfütze darin.
Denn eins wundert mich sehr: bei dem ganzen Hype um Caroni, warum höre ich zum ersten mal von diesen “Ersatz-Caronis” aus Guyana?! Und zweitens: bedeutet das, dass der Brennerei-Stil nachahmbar ist? Sprich: Kann der Caroni Charakter tatsächlich in Guyana reproduziert werden? Und wenn ja, warum tut es niemand? (Die Frage, ob man Caroni “wiederbeleben” kann, wird ja unter den Anhängern ob und zu debattiert)

Wow, bin voll drauf eingestiegen. Von Demerara habe ich nix geschmeckt, auch die 67% nicht. Krass! Aber total geil und lecker. Perfekt für eine Blind Degustation

Wie wäre es damit:
Zwischen Guyana und Caroni gibt es ja die Beziehung, dass Teile des Stocks dorthin verlagert wurden. Hier lag einfach nur eine Verwechslung vor, und eins der Caroni Fässer wurde fälschlicherweise als Guyana Rum verkauft.

That is the common myth floating around those Le gus’t 2002 Demeronis, but obviously no one knows, if it is true.
To my knowledge the Gran Torino is the only release besides the Le gus’t stuff, that falls into the same Demeroni category.

I wouldn’t call it a myth. Objectively, what is more likely? That Demerara is capable of producing that style but somehow no one has bottled it besides two underdog indie bottlers and only 3-4 casks of this style ever existed. Or that a few of the Caroni barrels that we know were stored at Demerara Ltd. at the time got mixed up?
Anyhow, I think it’s great Caroni and I’ll be on the lookout for a bottle. Where else can you get a nice Caroni like this for less than 200 bucks?

I was just reffering to the fact, that you are not alone and that it is a common myth/assumption/guess/whatever. I wasn’t judging whether this is true or not. Anyhow, it is pretty good, ye
