Das mit dem Alkohol habe ich auch. Mehr kommt nicht durch meine rote Nase. Am Gaumen kommen schon Beeren, Pflaume und auch ordentlich Alkohol

Es ist auch ein Bernleigh hier. Hat mir schon als Fassprobe beim Rumfest sehr gut gefallen. Nur heute kann ich ihm auch ein bisschen mehr Zeit geben 
Interesting rum, although my take is that the ABV is too strong and the alcohol is not well integrated. If you dilute it down, it becomes more approachable.

Wouldn’t know if I would have guessed Australia.
Secret distillery, but Beenleigh could be plausible.
Have The Duchess Australia open at home and it does has some common ground with this: overpowering alcohol at first and needs a lot of time to open up, but once the paint thinner fades away it gets more accessible and fruitier. The longer it stands, the better it gets.
It could also be a logical explanation for the many Guyana guesses: their “vat still” is comparable to the Port Mourant still and that the original distillers learned the craft in Guyana in the 1900’s.
Well, I still have a Beenleigh sample somewhere, so I will try it again following the recommendation of letting it breath very long.

It’s Beenleigh.
I have here the 2006 Beenleigh from Velier and a Beenleigh from Valinch & Mallet. They have similar character and this one fits well. Nice final rum for the calendar.

Auf Beenleigh wäre ich nicht gekommen. Hatte den in einem Sample etwas Stärker Richtung Gewürze eingestuft. Damals einen 82. Jetzt aktuell würde ich ein paar Punkte raufstufen. Er brauch wirklich viel Zeit zum atmen.
