I had 2 of this one, just the perfect mixer. I found a very good substitute with Plantation Xamayca special dry.

It was my third bottle and I think it was a great value for money :
- really good as a daily sipper
- ideal to have friends discover a Jamaican rum
- excellent in rum cocktails such as a light Mai Tai.
I’ll give Xamayca a try if I can find a bottle

I fully agree… and unfortunately, it is very hard to get any Hampden releases with that good quality for such a price (except the standard 8 year, which is very tasty as well).
I already thought about getting one of the 3 liter bottles, but I really need to step down acumulating bottles!

I thought so, too. However when looking around it seems the 0,7 version of the 5yo (2016-2021) is getting depleted and the 2nd batch is a 4yo (2018-2022) that I have only observed in the 3l version so far.

The younger is more fruity and younger profile compared to the classic 8 years, less impact of the wood & age. I found it perfect for mixing, but quite good to drink alone and/or to make discover an estery profile not too strong for a beginner.
And the 3L version is much expensive! Just because of the bottle
@crazyforgoodbooze : Yes I’ve been wanting to try out some of Perola’s releases for a while now. They’re on my list, but I’ll have to take advantage of a shipment from Germany next time as they’re not available in France. (thks to @Serge , I tried the FKM 91 and that was a real good one!)

I’ve found another bottle with a friend of mine that has kept some for he’s older days. But I’ll keep an eye on the Xamayca. I may find one some day at a merchant.
