New to the site but i noticed people splitting bottles and also linking rum sales in posts … are private rum sales allowed on here ?? If so where would i go to post them and are there conditions? Also have a friends shop who sells rum. Can i offer up a link when he has something special the group may be interested in ?

welcome here! This is a community for drinking not for trading, this is why private rum sales are not allowed. Private Rum sales can hardly be controlled and they run the risk of facilitating fraud.
If you want to share your bottles you’re free to create a bottle split.

And to add to what Lukas correctly told, there is potential legal trouble for facilitating the trading of alcohol on a platform. Its the same why facebook has banned it so vigourisly. You basically have no chance to not be at least in part be at fault if something goes wrong. So its much easier just to leave it to the professionals.
And of course, shop links are always welcome in the approriate thread!
