A quick update for transparency: I had another contact with the shop. A whole story about limited supplies, faulty payment flows and an unintended, buggy preorder where none was planned.
Long story short: a very strange and stressful affair, but the money was refunded in full. And despite the strange format of communication the handler was friendly. Credit where credit is due.

Wir haben aus der letzten Preorder gelernt und den Versandtermin diesmal lieber etwas konservativer angegeben. 
Laut Excellence Rhum startet der Versand aber schon ab diesem Donnerstag.
