Tonight tasting
Today the double 8 marks from Hampden/Velier tasting.
First of all, tasting the unaged Hampdens one year after gives almost the same results and the same aromas.
Talking about wood after one year is complicated. In the low esters rums, the integration of the wood is problematic and deserve the rums. So there the unaged ones are far better.
There is also problems with the wood integration for the high esters, a wood dust aroma develops which is not very annoying but also not great.
The medium esters are comfortable with only one year of wood, like HGML > HLCF > C<>H. These are the three best aged rums and the C<>H is also the best unaged.
Maybe we will be able to test soon the 2 years of wood for the 8 marks, that would be shurely interesting !
It’s rumored that the series won’t be continued. Too expensive for packaging and production as a niche thing for nerds. If that is not the case I’d prefer they do one last round at 5 years, not 2.
Black Tot Day feiern mit @SoenkeB
Unfotunately, that seems to be exactly the case. They really don’t seem to sell very well.
Tête de Mort, triple amber, 8,1%. Never had it before. Really great beer. It’s a challenge not to take the glass home
How does it taste?
it worked well, probably with the Fritz Cola in the lead taste-wise, I didn‘t pour in an awful lot of the Pusser‘s, though
How do you like it?Cheers🥂
