What Spirit Gallery stands for ?

We are rum enthusiasts, and what truly excites us is seeking out unique and complex rums to share memorable moments with fellow enthusiasts.

The second might be the more geeky,
And the third a good match to party… or to sip carefully.

New Grove, 10 years of tropical aging - 60,3%

A unanimous favorite among enthusiasts

During a masterclass with the Rhum Club Paris, the New Grove team brought us some exclusive rums straight from their cellars.

Of the 25 people present, one cask was a clear favorite. Not a single criticism, only focused eyes on glasses with broad smiles of approval.

It’s best enjoyed in three stages: first, a touch of sweetness, then cooked fruit (pear, quince, and mango), and finally, a finish of sweet spices and elegant woodiness. Also perfect for pairing with a cigar? We will let you decide.

As New Grove rarely opens its cellars to independent distilleries, it’s therefore a true privilege to be able to offer it to you.

That being said my friends, cheers to this amazing times for rum enthusiasts :tumbler_glass:

Thanks for your time and your energy, more informations to come in a few days.

Hey hey

Time to unveil the 2nd new release !

Remember our TDL 2003?
https://www.rum-x.com/rums/20587/spirit-gallery-tdl-trinidad/

That intensely fruity Trinidadian rum that was universally acclaimed?

Well, we’re doing it again!
When we bought it, another rum caught our eye: a TDL 2009 Heavy, powerful and raw.
We had a slightly crazy idea: to age it in the same cask as the 2003. So, we present to you:
Trinidad Reloaded: TDL 2009 Heavy + 2 years in a TDL 2003 cask

The result: all the TDL hallmarks we love, very heavy and smoky, lots of red fruit, underpinned by a subtle menthol/woody note, with a new complexity thanks to the finish in the 2003 cask.
If you like TDL, this should be a banger! We eagerly await your feedback!

Next week, the final reveal…

I’m surprised that it’s called New Grove, because the distillery is named Grays, isn’t it? Shouldn’t it therefore be named after the distillery instead of the brand? (same as CDI bottles Grays).

Or when rum from St. Lucia is bottled by independent bottler, they don’t sell it as Chairman Reserve, but as St. Lucia, right? . Anyway looks promising🙏

I will let @BenGthmnn respond, but the answer is quite simple in fact

Hi @Vinsdorf

Thanks for noticing ! It is a very interesting point.

Usually for lots of (big) producers, there are a name distinction between the distillery and the brand : New Grove / Grays, Angostura / TDL … and so on.

This allow the producer to keep a complete control over the brand / their (official) product they release while selling rum to third party, mainly brokers who then will resell it to other (like independant bottlers or blenders). In that case, the rum producer does not have the contact to the end customer and does not want to associate its branding to a produce on which it can not perform quality control / does not have any idea what has happened to rum after it was sold. Btw, other distilleries does not use a distillery name and simply forbid the disclosuse of the name of the distillery, this the mention of a country without the precise name of the producer. Not saying that this is always the case but that’s also a way to produce and sell lesser quality products (aka making margin) without associating the brand (think captain morgan. A blended rum from various origin. High end brand does not want to communicate that they also produce rum for it)

In this case, the selection was not done with a broker but directly with New Grove. That’s also why it’s a 100% tropical ageing rum. It actually took almost 2 years to do this project and after several back and forth, we found a cask that we both agreed on. Because the New Grove team values the Spirit Gallery project and we could ensure them that no modification of rum has been made, they agreed to let us use the New Grove name. A sign that shows what they think of this selection.

To my knowledge this is the first time they allow this for an IB (not an official selection for a private selection like a distributor). This might sound irrelevant though for us this is an incredibly positive a affirmation about their trust and about the overall quality of our selection so far. Doing few bottling, at the best value for money we could offer. I really wanna reiterate my thank for the New Grove team for this collaboration.

Fun fact : one of the person at the New Grove was on the jury of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles gave an award to our TDL 2003, and was wondering if that rum was a New Grove before remembering they did not send sample to the Concours.

It’s not the case of this current bottling, but New Grove and TDL can share this very interesting and unique red berry signature that I’m sure we’re a lot here to appreciate

Special offer, limited in time.

JAMAICAN FUNKY FURY #2 - The Ester Journey Continues
824g/hL of esters - 2125g/hL of congeners - 60% ABV

Let’s be honest: with 824g of esters, this is serious stuff. To give you an idea, it’s more than an STCE from Long Pond and almost as strong as Hampden’s H. Three of the island’s five distilleries contributed to this little gem.

And here’s the thing: we have off-the-charts specs, yet it remains incredibly drinkable. Exotic fruits are prominent, along with all the solvent we love in Jamaican whiskey, without it becoming aggressive.

It performs exceptionally well neat, obviously in a daiquiri, and honestly, it’s the perfect cheat code for an Infinity Bottle.

Wait, what’s an Infinity Bottle? A homemade megablend made with the dregs from your collection. And here, with this Funky Fury specifically, you instantly enhance it by adding esters and that Jamaican solvent note without altering the overall character.

Wanna try to make your own Infinity Bottle ? as rum geeks, I think it’s very interesting to experiment
