Happy Sunday, all! As mentioned previously, my full-time job is hosting rum education events In the south western part of the United States.
While progress is being made here, too many people still consider rum to be either for Tiki cocktails, piña, coladas, or a spiced rum to add to eggnog during the holiday’s.
As such, I started creating one page guides for my Rum Club, The Rum Curious Club. By no means is this the only 10 Starter sipping runs for beginners.
I did want to get everybody’s thoughts on this list.
I like your vision Bryan! It seems like too many people thinks rum is a mixer - good to see that you try to change that
I agree with the lineup, although I’m not familiar with all of them. And the prices might vary between US and EU so I think it’s a smart idea for the people in the vicinity with that price-tag.
nice line up! I’d rather prefer drinking less but good stuff but it’s not necessarily the price tag.
Some of the Clairins are really nice but might not work as sippers. Agree with the El Dorado standard line.
Being just back from the US I have to agree that it’s quite hard for you guys to get to rum haeven.
It makes me so sad when people tell me they like rum because it’s great in piña colada‘s or with Coca-Cola. No judgment against those cocktails whatsoever, but Rum can be sipped neat and should be as much as possible!
It’s almost impossible to get to rum heaven here! I’d say that Clairin It’s not something I would recommend for people just getting into rum unless they’re coming from really liking Mezcal or higher proof tequilas.
