Heute Mal Frühschoppen . Es erwartet ein schwerer Rum mit hoher Intensität, Alkoholintegration ist nicht optimal, vor allem hinten raus. Neben Holz und Gewürzen habe ich starke Noten von Beeren und roten Früchten, ich habe den Verdacht, der Rum könnte nicht ex-Bourbon sein. Ich schwanke etwas zwischen Foursquare, einem Melasse-Rum von Savanna oder doch wieder dem Default Low Ester Jamaica. Auch wenn ich weiß Gott kein Experte auf dem Gebiet bin, hau ich einfach mal eine verwegene Prognose raus: Raconteur RX15940.
Okay, I did not go on my strike today. Seeing the reveal from yesterday made me happy to have tried it.
Plus it was too cold outside today to go on a strike.
Nose: first whiff gives a strong nutty flavor. Smells deep caramel sweet with some kid’s clay. My first idea was English Harbour, but it could also be DDL or even Savanna because of the kid’s clay.
Taste: Deep burned sugar sweetness against quite some oak. It is very well balanced. A bit roasted and peppery. I am starting to think about something Barbados now. Maybe a nice FS IB. I would say around 60%. Could also be Belize perhaps since my palette has trouble to separate those two.
Finish: little but contained bitter after some pepper, oaky.
Conclusion: a nice and tasty dram but not my favorite profile. I am gonna put my money on RX1055.
Great mouth feel, quite dense. I also get a berry taste, something like pine shoots, maybe a bit medicinal. I would put a guess it’s not Caribbean. I will go with Fiji. Although I have minimal experience with it and no burned plastic here.
