I haven’t opened any Cognac or Armagnac in the recent weeks.
Time to change that.

The 1989 Grande Champagne Single Cask rubs elbows with Cognacs at the highest level. It is a complete Cognac; if you find a fault with this Cognac, please send me an email. Kidding aside, the coherence between the nose, palate, and finish is perfect. I’d buy this if I wanted to see what the Grande Champagne is capable of at a medium level of maturity.

This is a damn fine Cognac. Finish: Long with nuts, oranges, chocolate, a hint of leather and the whole spectrum of spices. I don’t think there’s another spirit catageory where you can still get so much value for money – this is just very good stuff.

It is an extremely cognacqy cognac. Once again, everything (fruits, herbs, spices, soft younger rancios, nuts, yada…) in the right order. Finish: vine peaches and heather honey as the signature. Comments: in fact there isn’t much to say, this is just perfect.
Aurian 1979 46,5% Wu Dram

Finish: very long, all on the most extreme herbal liqueurs, with bags of cloves in the aftertaste. Comments: extreme? Yes and no. I’m ready to surrender.
