Not sure if someone here is interested in vintage whiskys.
According to some reviews (e.g. whiskyfun) older whiskys might be quite interesting / different than the current bottlings. But maybe not that interesting that you need a whole bottle of it - so I thought why not share it…
Glenfarclas 12y (43%)
Same bottle code like https://www.whiskybase.com/whiskies/whisky/239580/glenfarclas-12-year-old so probably distilled late 80s?
Price: 50€ for ~ 0,95l
Sample price (including new bottle, label, parafilm)
5cl 4,1 €
Johnnie Walker Black 12y (43%)
I am not sure about this bottle - a lot of different versions with slightly different labels can be found. A very similar one on ebay was claiming to be from the 70s?
Price: 40€ for ~ 0,65
Sample price (including new bottle, label, parafilm)
5cl 4,6€
I guess it would be interesting to compare them to a recent bottling - but I would only buy the recent bottling if at least ~ half of it will be split:
Glenfarclas 12 should be possible to get for 45€ 70cl
Sample price (including new bottle, label, parafilm)
5cl 4,7€
Johnnie Walker Black 12y (40%!) for 25€ 70cl
Sample price (including new bottle, label, parafilm)
5cl 3,2€
Shipping:
- AT: I think the cheapest option is GLS for 3.9€
- DE: GLS for 10.90€ - maybe there is a better/cheaper option?
- EU: not sure if it is worth it - but I guess we will find a solution if someone is interested
