Day 27: when sleep is once again optional (because wife and daughter where taking up too much space in the bed and so on…) so you start working and preparing for the upcoming weeks in order for the day to start…

Time to go to the gym, I’ll sleep when I get back (I hope) :joy:

@Shridhar123 you made it yerstersay? I’m having something alike today. A good friend is coming over later, who I know likes a nice dram as well. Fuckin” sober Saturday :triumph:

@Tom : I made it! Had to fight temptation hard though, as I saw the lady crush her meal with a wine pairing. I hope that dram and cigar will totally worth it as the clock strikes midnight on the 31st.

PS: I have been hiding from my rum loving friends this month, because I am a weak man lol😂.

PPS: May the force be with you today and protein rich non alcoholic beers be your thirst quencher again!

I know I don’t know any of you personally but I’m proud of what you are all achieving- especially when I can feel the resolve in your words as the days go on. You’re on the home leg (last week). You can do this! Then to celebrate with a nice tipple!

@Rumoldfashioned : Cheers to that!

Gerade bei Serge gesehen. Hat das mal jmd ausprobiert?

Nope. It reminds me of those air-up water bottles with a scent pad that creates the flavor.

Maybe they should develop a rum scented one :grin:

Ich habe 13 Tage trocken gemacht. Am 13.01 war aber ein Event in der Firma wo klar war, dass ich was trinken will. Vor zwei Jahren habe ich Januar & Februar trocken gemacht und es hat wunderbar geklappt

DAY 28/31: “Walking on the beaches lookin’ at the peaches” (© The Stranglers)

Welcome my little sheep!

After a busy weekend we are heading into the last dry week. With the finishing line in sight, I made up a small interim balance. So far I

  • did not loose any weight;
  • can`t say that my mood has improved (“au contraire, ma chère”);
  • spent as much money on new bottles as I did before;
  • am no less sensitive to stress;
  • contributed every day some silly things to this great community.

Although I broke the iron rule just once (for necessary reason :sunglasses:), I feel still to be member of the contest (if only against my inner weekness, it would also be ok :innocent:). And I can proudly tell you, that, after 4 weeks, my blood pressure went down significantly in the permanent green area - just FANTASTIC! :muscle::muscle:
It’s really a measurable effect of abstinance. :hugs:

Day 29: mamma mia molto bene! :spaghetti:

As to results so far:

  • Resting pulse is lower.
  • Overall sleep quality improved.
  • Not much difference on the scale, but I got rid of some fat, it’s noticable in the mirror.
  • My mood is a bit more positive, but that has to do with many things. Work is a bit easier and less stressful and I have more time for family, sports and relaxation compared to the last couple of months. The days are getting longer once again… Huge factors as wel!
  • I’ve only bought one bottle this month, but January isn’t over yet :sweat_smile:

Edit: training recovery is better as well
