But without any chill filtering please
Also no chili filtering please.
My summary after the weeks so far:
- 6 kilos lost
- Resting heart rate at 52
- longer sleep phases
- but despite everything bought several bottles (as usual)
Looking forward to February 1st, but don’t know yet what will please my palate (three more sleeps😇)
It’s not because you’re abstinent, it’s because you’re retired

DAY 29/31: “I’m done with the easy living” (© Gluecifer)
Welcome my humble rum sheep!
With big steps we are nearing to the end of the journey. Obviously this begs the question: What will your first sin be?
For me the choice is apparent:
…well, yeah whom am I kidding? I would rather rot in hell than put that crap into me.
To be honest, I am not sure at the moment. There is a tendency to
Yeah, no kidding, not a rum after a month of arid abstinence, but a Scotch.
Dear rum community, you may throw your stones NOW
– to be continued –
Only who is free from sin may throw the first stone… I throw like my four-year-old niece anyway.
So enjoy your fine Scotch, Bro
the old Springbanks are outstanding, good choice
Definitely not sleepy tonight. Wondering if it’s the end of my quarter or the anticipation of Dry January ending .
It’s T-2 folks!
DAY 30/31: “Power, Corruption & Lies” (© New Order)
Welcome, welcome, welcome!
Already counting the days hours my little sheep? Well to earn your booze cleaning your body is just the first step. However, you have to clean your mind to. Therefore I have something really special for you today. Some deep insights into rum, Pulitzer Nobel Price worthy reading material. Forgot everything, you ever read before on rum. May I present you:
I found it quite astonishing, how much bulls**t marketing speech someone can compile, who claims having “extensive experience in the alcohol industry and personal love of rum”.
If you cannot stand reading that crap, let me present you at least some highlights:
Regarding Bacardi: “They’ve even started to experiment with using different casks for maturation”.
I think that is REVOLUTIONARY!!! These people are true geniuses! Maturation! Casks! Different Casks! But what I like most: First Bacardi uses every trick in the book to convert rum into a nearly tastless neutral spirit and than they put the liquid into “different casks” to get some flavours back. I said already REVOLUTIONARY, didn`t I?
Regarding Kraken: “The rich molasses base provides toffee-like flavors that harmoniously blend with notes of warming cinnamon and sweet vanilla”.
No it does not, sugar and sugar and sugar and a lot of additives do that. Did I mention sugar and additives?
Regarding Captain Morgan: “the famous spiced spirit is named after Welshman Henry Morgan, a famous 17th-century “privateer””.
Yeah, right and by the way, Morgan was a a slave trader and plantation owner, too. Hey Diageo, you might consider changing your brandname al Plantation Plantanquery did. Some humble suggestions: Captain Moregain, Captain Migraine, Captain Whoregan.
Regarding Don Papa: “premium small batch” “oak-aged rum” “ultimate sipping rum” “magnificent flavors of the distiller’s world-class molasses”
Let me put it this way: ****** *********** *******!!!
God, I want a drink…a good one.
– to be continued –
I can already hear the rum in my bottles quietly calling my name
Day 30: girlfriend had to pick up our daughter early from school because of an ear infection, poor thing. I had the night shift, team meeting this morning and on top of that an evaluation interview until 15h.
I treated myself with a couple of bottles (see other topic). I feel like I deserve a dram just for making it through the day… but I think I’m getting a cold in stead
That are bad news for you…. I‘m sorry to hear this
Thank you, but that’s life sometimes
Good thing that I can keep my schedule blocked tomorrow so that me and the little one can have a sick day at home without her having to stay elsewhere.
I think I’ll skip a training day
Drum roll for T-1
I used dry january this week to produce some stuff to use for Cocktails later on and to do bottle kills meanwhile
Homemade Falernum.
Cinnamon tincture.
Tonkabean Armagnac/Cognac infusion.
Passionfruit Rhum liquor
Roasted coconut rum Infusion.
Madagaskar Vanilla rum and much more😅
Irre!
After those reccomendations i might be going back dry and renounce alcohol from now on hahah
