I do understand where this comment comes from. I’m not bothered with not being able to participate, but getting notifications (push and e-mail) about this event, I find a bit too ‘in my face’ with the pay-to-play direction this has gone in. Making frequent contributions or being a lounge member doesn’t seemingly serve any purpose anymore. Cfr. paywalled RumX-bottlings and tastings. And so these initiatives incite zero hype for me anymore.

Again, just trying to shed some light on another point of view here. I wish everyone good luck in the raffle and I’m sure it will be awesome for the participants.

Nah, it’s not coming from that angle. It was genuinely not mentioned when I read it – and I did so twice. The edit history doesn’t show the complete picture it seems.

I’m not mad that it’s RX+ only by an means. There have been calls for more perks for paying users, and rightfully so. This is an excellent opportunity to answer that call. I was so lucky to participate in the Savanna High Ester Masterclass and it was a blast. I’m wishing everyone good luck, this will be awesome.

(But I know what you mean. It’s going to be a balancing act )

Thanks for all the candid feedback on RX+ only perks. I’m constantly trying to find the sweet spot between keeping RumX sustainable and keeping our shared rum passion front and center. That balance isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary to put RumX on a stable footing for the future.

A small peek behind the scenes: servers and infrastructure alone cost us a four-digit amount every month, and I invest countless of hours into building and improving the app. For those who recognize that RumX doesn’t come out of thin air and support us with a small monthly RX+ contribution, the Savanna Masterclass is a heartfelt “thank you” for their appreciation and support.

And just as food for thought: tomorrow Robert and I will spend the whole day bottling hundreds of samples and packing boxes. Believe me, we’d love to do something else—but we do it out of pure passion and dedication for this community.

We’re listening, and we’ll keep refining the balance so RumX stays both exciting and sustainable for everyone.

Ich finde auch es sollte jeder für sich selbst entscheiden welchen Nutzen er aus der App zieht.
