Thanks for creating this thread - great idea! I just merged the two duplicates. Thanks for pointing that out!
Also maybe an option for Magnum Bottles would be senseful?
I dont really see the point of rating the Magnum Series by Velier twice. For collection purposes it makes totally sense to have the 70cl and 150cl version in the app. But for the rating its kind of unnecessary.
I already have this topic on my radar. Currently they are separated because the bottles in the data model have different volumes and bottle counts - as you noted. In the future, I plan to adjust the data model here so that there can be multiple âbottlingsâ per rum. In this way, we could then also cleanly represent the VSGB bottles.
For this, however, some adjustments have to be made in the software architecture. As soon as I have some more capacity, I will take care of it.
Thanks for the thread.
This one is bothering me since years:
RX6090 and RX6336 is the same rum (there is a 40% Version in the US which isnât in the database)
Same would go for all the US Version with 75cl of the Foursquare Range.
Iâve tried to add the North American version of ED 15 and 21 which both have 40% instead of the 43% weâre used to. But they have not been added and my tastings for them appeared on the EU version.
I understand that adding a new rum for such small nuances may result in potentially too many similar rums that confuse newcomers. But on the other hand they are different, I have not tasted the 43% even though I have added a tasting for them.
Sounds good! However I hope we donât end up like whiskybase, where thereâs often dozens of bottlings per release (pretty stupid, imho). Iâd advocate having shared ratings between different sizes. But this needs to be carefully considered. âBatchesâ need to be separate because there can be differences in taste, a version that is simply another bottle size (VSGB/US/EU/Magnum) should contain the same juice and share a rating.
Hello there !
I just found also some duplicates in the attachement below :
The 2 Saint James are from the same vintage, the same cask, at the same degree and they are at the same age unlike what is written on the data (we can see the bottling date on the label)
Itâs sometimes very confusing with some agricole rhums, as they tend to release a single cask from the same vintage but at different times to see how the rum evolves with the aging process (Depaz, HSE and Saint James do that often) and itâs pretty tricky sometimes to know exactly which one you are tasting too
Fixed, thanks!
Sometimes it is indeed very tedious to detect (very small) differences. This causes sometimes very high efforts for me when reviewing the new entries. But I do my best to research as well as possible and avoid making mistakes.
Unfortunately for me that I had voted them both, now there are two reviews of mine on the same rum, but I have no way to edit or delete them to leave only one, I tried to send a report for the deletion of the two excess reviewsđ
Thank you very much Oliver, the longueteau 120 ans is done, but the double review of Flibuste 1999 is missing
Fixed
No, two different barrels. One has an ABV of 68.4% and the other of 68.5%. You can verify this on the RDL website. They have quite a few releases like this.
