Danke für den Hinweis.
Gibt’s auch in Fassstärke. Sollte man fast mal probieren.

(in line miti Passion for Whisky)
Die Kollegen hier, sehen ihn allerdings ziemlich deutlich als Hampden Single Cask:
Es bleibt Immer wieder spannend in der Rum-Welt…
Hab einfach mal gefragt unter dem posting
The Hampden Triple Entente RX18952 bears a new mark: R<>H and “is based on Ruth Hussey” with a ester level of 800-900 gr/hlpa.
It is getting busy in the Hampden mark(eting) department.
Hi guys, does anyone know what is the MJH3 marque from Hampden? If I understand it correctly, it’s just a marque created by cask brokers and not an official one. Is that true?
What is an official name for it?
I believe that MJH3 is a broker mark for the OWH Mark of Hampden
Yes thats what i read. Stands for M(ain)J(amaica)H(ampden) Barrel No.3.
As far as I know the MJH3 bottlings are all from 2012 which was a year wherein Hampden only produced the OWH mark. So as such MJH3 is not a mark in the official distillery marks sense. It indeed must be a broker’s mark.
OWH 2012, 3 years tropical ageing
True.
Agree with everything except the last part. Barrel number 3 makes no sense, there are at least 6 different bottlings of said mark, certainly not all from barrel #3. In fact, RDL No. 49 is from barrel 13.
Hm, intersting theory … any source for that? I was only able to find one bottling that explicitly states 3 years tropical. No further confirmation but also no counter example among the others.
The only thing that throws me off is that this would be the only broker mark known to me where the age (at time of reception by the broker) is incorporated.
All 2012 OWH IBs are 3 years tropical.
Transcontinental, COR, Roots.
Some not stated but the same.
Not often but sometimes it was marked like this with tropical ageing years as a last digit.
With regard to the mark composition of the 2024 HE Jamaican Papalins RX21812 and RX21813, a Velier representant told me the blend consists of the following marks:
Is this information consistent with the 5yo age statement?
Tropical aged so it counts double!
But seriously: that is a very good point @DevidedByZero. Either the claim on the bottle is not completely true, or my info was not accurate.
Edit: perhaps they calculate a weighted average.
