Hello RumX Community,
I met Manuel, also known as The Whisky Waiter (@TheRumWaiter), at the German Rum Festival in Berlin about 4 weeks ago. I was really touched by his passion and dedication to helping children with heart problems, so I want to share his amazing charity project with all of you:
Every October, Manuel organizes a charity event to raise money for kinderherzen e.V. – an organization that helps children with heart conditions and supports important research for new treatments. This year, the event will take place from October 3rd to October 6th, and for the first time, there will be a special Rum Auction!
Why This Charity Is Important
Manuel started this event in 2021 in memory of his mother, who passed away in October 2016 during a heart transplant. Over the years, the whisky community has supported him, and they raised €7,777 in 2021, €17,128.98 in 2022, and a huge €36,358 in 2023, which was doubled by the Eva-Mayr-Stihl Foundation.
This year, the money raised will help the “Center for Univentricular Hearts” at the German Heart Center in Munich. They offer important care for children with serious heart problems after they leave the hospital, helping them stay healthy and live longer. The Eva-Mayr-Stihl Foundation will double every euro we donate, making our support even more powerful!
How You Can Help
You can support Manuel’s charity event in two ways:

Donate Money: You can make a donation through the official charity page here.

Donate Rum: You can donate bottles of rum, and Manuel will auction them to raise more funds for the charity.
The RumX team will set a good example by donating some special bottles from our own collection. We invite all of you to join us and help make a big difference for these children.
