New in RumX v23.2.3: Label Scanner Now Available! 📸

Dear RumX Community,

We’re thrilled to announce a major new feature in the latest version of the RumX app: Label Scanning is here! :tada:

This has been one of the most requested improvements from our last community survey—and we’ve listened. Starting with version v23.2.3, you can now:

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Simply tap the camera icon next to the search bar
:backhand_index_pointing_right: Take a picture of the front label (or scan a barcode, as before)
:backhand_index_pointing_right: Let our new AI-powered label recognition identify the bottle instantly

Whether you’re exploring a friend’s collection or browsing a rum shop, it’s now faster and easier than ever to find bottles in the database. We’ve worked hard to build this feature from scratch and are very proud to deliver this first version to you.

But now we need your help!

Just tested it and 11 out of 12 bottles worked without any issues! :heart_eyes::balloon::ok_hand:t3::partying_face:
The only one that didn’t work at all is this one, which leads to the wrong savanna so far:

But I guess CDI is a special & more complicated case for the KI in general as there are so many similar bottlings!:sweat_smile:

Puh, das ist auch ne harte Nuss! :sweat_smile: ich schau mal, dass ich den Algorithmus noch ein StĂĽckchen tweake, so dass er die Eckdaten noch besser erkennen kann (10yo vs. 12yo). Die Erkennung der ABV klappt schon richtig gut. :flexed_biceps:t3:

Wow, das Feature ist so krass - ich wusste bis gerade nicht einmal, dass ich das unbedingt brauche! Wie viel einfacher die Inventur werden wird, phantastisch!

Ja so was wie “Perola” beim CDI trinidad erkennt er witzigerweise direkt, da müsste das mit dem prominenten “Rum Stylez” ja eigentlich auch gehen :sweat_smile:
Aber ist auch meckern auf hohem Niveau. Bin echt sehr positiv vom Feature ĂĽberrascht! :grin::victory_hand:t3:

Hat bisher sehr gut funktioniert, bin gespannt, wenn ich es mal mit den CDI Sonderlocken probiere :wink:

Bei Plantation kommt der Scanner aber an seine Grenzen.

Stimmt, bei solchen minimalen Unterschieden zwischen Single Casks komme ich selbst mit dem menschlichen Auge oft ins GrĂĽbeln. :sweat_smile:

Was dem Algorithmus auf jeden Fall hilft, ist ein gut sichtbarer ABV-Wert im Bild – damit kann er den möglichen Trefferpool erheblich einschränken und die richtige Abfüllung besser identifizieren.

Ja das ist bei der Flasche schlicht unmöglich, da gibt es zig Abfüllungen, alle mit 53%. Keine Ahnung welche ich genau jetzt da habe :rofl:

Aber sonst ein tolles neues Feature, welches einem die Bearbeitung seiner Datenbank sehr erleichtert, danke @Oliver

Had a test of around 50 bottles and the hit rate is over 50%.
On releases from Roots the hit rate is 100% and on Swell the Spirits the hit rate is high and you sometimes get a selection of results check :blush:
