Ich sehe hier den Fehler eher bei Savanna, nicht bei den Shops. Absolut irreführend. Ich habe auf dem Etikett nichts entdecken können, was auf das korrekte Alter hinweist. Afaik spricht man bei agricole schon ab 3 Jahren von “très vieux” … (ok, einziger Hinweis: ein 30yo Agricole wäre definitiv “hors d’age”, aber das sind Details die ein Shop-Betreiber nicht wissen muss).

Stimme dir 100% zu. Eine solche Originalabfüllung sollte transparent mit der Altersangabe umgehen. Das ist peinlicher als die Solera fake angaben

Da muss man doch eigentlich gar nicht die “Très Vieux” - Bezeichnung gelesen haben - ein Blick auf den Preis reicht vollkommen aus. Eine wohlgemerkt 0,7 Liter (!!!) Limited-Edition von Savanna, die 30 Jahre (!!!) tropisch reifen durfte, hätte es selbst vor 5 Jahren (also vor dem großen Savanna-Boom) nicht annähernd für einen Kurs von 130 Euro gegeben.
Ob sich da vielleicht der ein oder andere fachkundige Reseller ordentlich vergriffen hat ?
Lustig wäre es doch…

Hast ja vielleicht nicht ganz unrecht.
Andererseits kann man zumindest für die Perspektive des Abfüllers behaupten:
Wieso? Steht doch Très Vieux ausdrücklich drauf. Das ist auch drin.
Unten steht ohnehin nur wieder sowas extrem Wichtiges wie “zum dreißigjährigen Bestehen von xxx” oder “zum 80. Geburtstag von yyy”.
Das Erkennen der Altersbezeichnung kann dem umsichtigen und meist fachkundigen Kunden doch wohl zugemutet werden…!?!
Derjenige allerdings, der aus Panik und / oder Gier gleich zehn Flaschen in den Warenkorb hämmert, weil Savanna und 30 draufsteht (und es das Ganze auch noch zu einem brutalen 0,7-Kurs von 130 Euro gibt), der sollte in Zukunft vielleicht etwas besser auf das Etikett schauen, um zu wissen, was er da demnächst möglichst gewinnträchtig versteigern möchte…
Soweit allerdings seitens der Shops eine alterstechnische Falscheinordnung erfolgt, ist das in der Tat etwas" kurios"…
…und blöd für den Kunden, der keinen Blick auf’s Etikett geworfen hat.

As far as I know there is no official regulation for this age statements on rum, not even in martinique. They use the old cognac system (in the new cognac system xo is 10 years), but as in cognac, the liquor in the bottle can be much older than the age statement.
Tres Vieux is also often combined with a XO statement in cognac and rhum

So misreading the new Savanna for a 30 yo Rhum (besides the price) is not about uneducated customers but about intransparent labeling

A regular customer who is not a rum nerd, who finds this bottle in a store can’t identify the true age of the bottling and this is a shame for Savanna.
The rhum is sold out quickly in most shops because of this mislabeling. The other new Savanna Releases which are hardy younger are still on the shelves. And people who get tricked once might not trust an accurate label the next time. Such a lack of transparency causes everyone to lose for a quick hype.

I would agree, the Label goes exactly in the direction of the Plantation XO 20th Anniversary. Which also misleads customers in thinking its a 20 y/o spirit.
The front label states its the Edition Bois-Rouge 1992-2022 and Rhum Agricole Très Vieux. That sounds like a very old Agricole from 1992 to me. On the Backlabel it goes on with the story:
“To celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of its move to the Bois Rouge Site in Saint André, in 2022 Destillerie Savanna is releasing this old agricole rum, which reveals its intensity with vegetal notes […]”
So no more classification of Vieux, Très Vieux, XO and so on. Just the statement of an old agricole.
I mean, Im not sad I bought a bottle and opened it straightaway. Good/decent Agricole. But the label and marketing is just plain horrible here. Savanna know about their value on the collectors market and play their cards accordingly. Premiumization to the fullest.

To me, this label is even worse, especially because of Savanna, who used to have serious information on their labels (remember their range of white high-esters)

I agree! On the Plantation the XO is most prominent with “20th Anniversary” underneath.
Writing 1992-2022 on a label sounds like a single cask/small batch distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2022. This must have been on purpose and is a shame in my opinion.

Dort gibt es auch einen Hampden 2008 mit 58% (RX12051). Leider auch noch keine Verkostung.
