Hi everyone,
I had the chance to go to Rhum Fest Paris 2025 for 3 days.
Saturday : helping the Swell De Spirits team with a big rush from 1PM to 5PM. Obviously we had the chance to try the new TDL 2001 with @RobBauer, and obviously the great line-up of Bielle, High Ester Jamaican, Guyana 2011 + very special things for the VIF… with many great feedbacks.
Sunday : no work, just tastings with friends, including special mentions for :
-
VIF. Bologne ADN “Les expérientiels N°1”, Saint-James 1982, future release of New Grove Inception Vintage 2004 !
-
10 new release to try from Famille Ricci, with the new collections Unique Blends, and Rare Single Casks. It was the strongest line-up of the festival I think, really had good impressions on every bottle.
-
New Excellence Rhum selection of Savanna 15y (I pre-ordered it, it’s so good and dark/smoky for a Savanna).
Monday : pro day.
- Great discovery of DBM, Distillerie Bonne-Mère which is producing 45% of the rum from Guadeloupe since 150y. The now have a brand, 3 good releases at “low” price, and few Single Cask coming in the next months. You really need to pay attention I think
- Very good whites from Carnival Sun Juice with a limited edition of a 2022 Saint-James white rested for 3 years, new Payet & Rivière distillery from La Réunion, and very nice cane bite in the Braud & Quenesson L319-52 batch 2 release, amazing taste.
- Strong new labels & line-up from New Grove with the Emotion 1969 cuvée, Rum Runner casks strengths (already released), and more.
- Finishing with Alexandre Gabriel masterclass for Navy Rums, great stories, and a little gift for my coming birthday.
Will give more infos on my blog, but if you had other nice tasting at this event, let’s share !
Cheers
