Wow those are sad news. Already had my trip planned there this year.
That’s awful… Such an excellent festival with quality rums. Do you know why they stopped organizing @Tom ?
They wrote in their facebook post about high workload and more need of family time. I assumed people worked full time on such a big fair, but seems they did that all next to their main jobs…
From the message the vibe that they send out is because it’s a LOT of work next to their day jobs, family life, etc. For them it feels like the right time to turn the page.
I know that one of their children’s birthday falls more or less the same with the salon. This year it was during the weekend even. I can imagine that family life has something to do with it.
And they do this next to their day jobs as well. It can’t be easy to combine all those things.
Life is short kids, live it well
Damn, that’s truly heartbreaking news. It’s such a fantastic event, and I really hope this inspires others to pick up the torch and keep it alive. Unfortunately, it’s quite far from where I live, otherwise, I’d be highly motivated to help ensure the event’s survival and contribute to its organization.
Super unfortunate and sad to hear! Was planning to do a booth with Bellamy’s there this year! On the other hand a reasonable and understandable decision. Everything comes at a price…
