I wonder what kind of label you prefer on you sample bottles. I’m asking, as I put a lot of work in printing resized original labels in the past. But I find myself prefering labels with a short description RumX ID and a barcode (I’m not sure who uses that kind of labels).

To me it doesn’t matter really. A printed copy of the original gets a style bonus, but thats it. I don’t have any use for QR codes, RumX ID and all that either. The only info I really appreciate is the ABV (besides the name of the rum of course ).
Exciting survey, am very curious about the result.
For me personally, the RX ID is essential to find the right rum directly in the app (without potentially confusing ambiguity). That’ why I’m not a big fan of reprinted original labels.
The QR code to jump directly to the rum without the search box is the icing on the cake and rather nice to have.
I think that original labels are the most aesthetic but the ID or code is pretty useful too. Anyway, this is a secondary question, I think I’d search how the bottle looks like on the web anyway.
It’s important for me, however, that the bottle contains all the necessary info to identify the rum. Just numbers on the bottles and separate info in the appended message is difficult to recall if I come back to a sample after some time.
True, also when contrast is low or the labels are just too busy that they don’t work when scaled down. It can be difficult. Most are fine, though.
On the other hand a miniature label “inspires” me more than just plain text. Maybe because I spend too much time browsing shops and literally looking at bottles/labels. Hard to describe, a minature label somehow creates a stonger link to what I’m about to taste than just text (or barcode). But maybe that’s just me
On the other hand, the handwritten poor-quality note sticked randomly to a bottle makes it feel more inside the inner circle of the rum enthusiasts. The more aesthetic the label, the more it becomes a product, and we, the clients, not the colleagues.
All efforts in labeling are appreciated from my side: from just a simple handwritten RumX ID so you can taste it blind if you would want to, up to the most readable copy of the original label and every form in between.
For me personally I prefer the RumX ID, but I dont care if printed or handwritten, as long as I can read it, since I can find nearly all relevant information with the ID. Since some Labels such as TRC, RA or CDI are sometimes pretty similar and with small Labels Hard to Tell apart I like something such as a ID more.
Man kann aber auch beides kombinieren. Einfach eine Kopie des Labels auf die Flasche und darunter die RX-Nummer, jedenfalls soweit es eine gibt.
Denn das ist das andere Problem.
Versucht mal zu einem 12 jährigen LongPond mit 44% von CDI eine Nummer zu finden. Gibt es nicht.
Somit ist eine vernüftig große Kopie des original Label doch manchmal gut. Oder aber alle Angaben auf dem Flaschenlabel sind auf einen vernüftig großen Aufkleber festgehalten.
Denn es bringt mir nichts, wenn ich z.b. nur LongPond 12Jahre 44% drauf stehen habe. Ich will auch wissen wann er destilliert und wann er in die Flasche abgefüllt wurde. Und wenn er in einem bestimmten Faß gelagert wurde, will ich das auch wissen.
Man will ja auch keinen Wein vorgesetzt bekommen, wo man weiß das er rot, weiß oder rose ist und 5 Jahre alt ist.
Deshalb bevorzuge ich gut gemachte Flaschenlabelkopien oder eben selbst erstellte Label mit allen Angaben.
Rum trinken soll ja auch immer noch ein Genuß für alle Sinne sein, denn sonst kann ich auch gleich Fusel trinken.

Ich stimme zu, ein Miniaturlabel erzeugt eine Verbindung zum originalen Flaschendesign - die Sampleflaschen sehen ja alle gleich aus. Der Nachteil der Miniaturlabel ist, dass sie gar nicht oder schwer lesbar sind, weshalb ich manchmal nur Ausschnitte mit den wichtigen Informationen verwende - das hilft aber auch nur bedingt.
Für mich wäre eine Kombination aus Miniaturlabel und RumX-ID ideal, etwa so:
Normalerweise ist es doch so, dass jede Flasche, in der App erfasst sein sollte!
Neue Flaschen können doch durch denjenigen, der sie teilt, eingepflegt werden!
Diese erscheinen ja relativ schnell in der app und erhalten somit eine ID! Erst danach könnte man sie verschicken !
Bis dahin sollte ja niemand verdursten
und was, wenn man die App nicht benutzt?
Dann kommt die Flasche wohl nie in die DB.
Und wenn niemand anderes die Abfüllung probiert, dann ist sie auch nicht in der DB.
Somit ist die Sache mit dem Label und einer, soweit vorhandenen, RX ID die bessere Wahl. Natürlich neben der mit dem Etikett mit allen angaben darauf.
Alle Eventualitäten wird man nie ausschließen können, aber mal ehrlich: wie wahrscheinlich ist das?
Aber auch hier gilt; wie Du Deine Samples etikettierst ist ja Deine Wahl!
Da ich die App aufgrund der ganzen Googleverknüpfungen nicht benutze, ist es bei mir sehr wahrscheinlich.
Und du hast recht, es wird nie ein gemeinsames Format geben, denn dafür hat jeder seine Ansichten und Vorlieben und zeitliche oder technische Einschränkungen. Und wäre ja auch irgendwie langweilig so ein “Weltfrieden”
Ich glaube auch, dass es im Alltag unwahrscheinlich ist, dass es einen Rum gibt, der nicht zeitnah von einem der sehr vielen aktiven Nutzer hinzugefügt wird. Falls doch mal ein Exote geteilt wird, kannst Du mir gern auch eine kurze PM mit dem Label schicken und ich füge ihn hinzu und gebe direkt die RX-ID raus.
Zusammenfassend kann man sagen, dass die “technischen Daten” für die meisten von euch die höchste Priorität haben (egal ob gedruckt oder handgeschrieben) und ein Miniturabbild des originalen Label eher “nice to have” ist.

Die neuen Sampleflaschen sind heute gekommen und so sehen die neuen Etiketten auf den alten und neuen Flaschen aus. Die neuen Flaschen und deren Deckel haben außerdem den Vorteil, dass kein Parafilm nötig ist, weil im Deckel eine Dichtung ist.
