Mauritius was one of my options, but new grove usually do have strong mango notes that here weren’t so noticeable, on the other hand there is a leather note I hadn’t find before in new grove range.
Low abv was noticeable, there was something missing while drinking.
I loved new grove in the last two lmdw selections

Au ja, das stimmt!
Der Emotion 1969 ist ja ein sehr sanfter, geradezu gezähmter Rum. Aber grundsätzlich würde ich sagen, dass die Melasse-Rums der Destillerie Grays, also die New Groves, die besten Rums der Insel sind. Und ein Besuch des angeschlossenen Zucker-Museums lohnt sich sehr!

Ich habe ja auch noch einen 2. Split mit Rums von Mauritius hier auf RumX im Angebot, aber bisher kaum Resonanz …

First nose seems to send us to Trinidad.
Wood. Leather. Fruits. Pepper. Alcohol seems really light. Caramel also.
Stronger in the mouth.
Wood is omnipresent. Leather, caramel. Alcohol is here but well integrated.
I’d say TDL because of the mint at the end.

A very pleasant rum that does not particularly complicate anything. Harmonious aroma (fruit, vanilla, caramel, wood), spices and finally a little mint in the taste. I imagine that a rum with such a profile and strength of alcohol can attract even beginners and non-rummers.
