Hatte ich mir auch schon angeschaut. Leider hat der ein Sauternes Finish. Da hatte ich bisher eher schlechte Erfahrung gemacht, da meist ein guter Teil Süße (nicht unbedingt Zucker) mit rüberkommt.

jamaica hat mir in den meisten fällen zuviel ester und das mag ich dann wiederum nicht bei einem rum. somit hat man sich mal die daten angesehen und dann aber doch keinen kaufreiz gehabt
wenn man aber einen jamaica rum ein paar jahre in ein ex-whisky faß lagert, dann kann da durchaus was raus kommen. eigenes experiment durchgeführt und war erfolgreich

It’s true that Jamaica has, in most cases, the most funky and high ester rums but most of them come from Hampden. If you look at Worthy Park, Clarendon, Long Pond and Appleton you often find the low ester rums that are more accesible and incredible tasty. Certainly the Long Ponds that are bottled by Plantation Rum. But imo they always need 20-30 minutes in a glass to open up the aromatic profile.
I agree with your point to age or finish high ester rums on other casks than ex-bourbon, not only from Jamaica though, some finishes on peated whisky casks are incredible good. I’ve selected for my shop a Hampden with a finish on PX Sherry cask for 30 months, bottled at 46% it’s an incredible mouthwatering rum and the bouquet of aroma’s develops the longer it’s in the glas.
I also have a Chamarel from Martinique open in my shop, finished on a Laphroaig peated whisky cask, bottled by La Maison du Rhum, it has a very subtle influence of the peated whisky which makes it a hell of a discovery… and those bottles are still affordable to crack open (60-100 €).

I had filled a Jamaica rum with more than 3 years into an octave bourbon cask, in which a Glenglassaugh whisky had been stored for 5 1/2 years.
The rum was stored in it for almost 5 years and got a nice rum colour. and has a nice pleasant taste without ester notes. unfortunately only 22 bottles came out of this experiment.
But maybe I’ll fill 50 litres of caribbean rum into the cask now.

Chamarel or Martinique ? 
Personnaly, I used to like estery rums. Now I clearly prefer the more pastry, greedy profiles.
My personal tastes are that esters are more interesting than good.

The first one 60€, lrok 11 years 120 (which I already consider to be too expensive for a regular bottling), that makes the 2021 150€… Thinking that this cost 90€ when I first saw it…

Was ich weiß ist, dass es eine Warteliste gibt, welche länger ist als die Gruppe Mitglieder hat. Neuaufnahmen gibt es wohl nur, wenn ein Mitglied aus der VSGB Liste ausgeschieden ist. Wie und wo man sich anmeldet kann ich dir nicht sagen. Es gibt wohl eine Facebook Gruppe. Alles aus dritter Hand und ohne Gewähr 
Das Rum und Co ein Set anbietet wundert mich bzw. hätte ich nicht mit gerechnet.
Ich muss es einmal sagen… 209€ für 7cl!?..
