Best bars for rum lovers

Golden Promise (downstairs / part of LMDW). You can try all the Velier unicorns, but it can be expensive

Try the Experimental Cocktail Club. They also have some unicorns and prices are a little more realistic.

Fantastic place ! Thanks for the feedback and the pictures.

I know the place mainly due to the shop : but I don’t understand why the Destino 70th anniversary Velier is that cheap, regarding the others. That was quite same price at Whisky Live this year and I thougth they made a mistake but seems no.

Meine neue, aktuelle Lieblingsbar: Hanky Panky

Hi there,

I’m going to Hamburg soon, what are the bars/shops that I “need” to visit ?
If you have advice on good restaurants, I’m interested too

I found “Weinquelle Lühmann” very good. The rum selection, especially in the premium range, is really big. They also have many rarities to offer and are very friendly.

I agree with @Portman, Weinquelle is a great shop, but the onsite shopping experience is rather underwhelming, as the selection is stored at the basement. Browser their online shop, 99,9% of their stock is listed their.

There are no other meaningful spirit shops in the city. Spirituosen Wolf at the Schazenviertel has a rather bad rum selection, you can browse their stock online, too.

Once there was a beautiful bar for rum lovers. “The Gone Away Bar” but its gone :(. They had HV Daiquiris and very good tiki drinks.
But Hamburg has a lot of very excellent bars.

  • Obviously the most famous: Le Lion bar de Paris. They make an amazing Old Cuban
  • The Rabbithole is nice as well and I had a good Nuclear Daiquiri.
  • The Chug Club is a Tequila Bar and absolutely worth a visit.

Other Bars worth mentioning:

  • Drip Bar
  • Tipsy Baker Bar
  • The Boilerman Bar - focused on Highballs (Rummy Highballs as well)

I guess @Hendrik might have some more tips than my limit experience.
