Feedback: As an English-speaking member it is difficult to keep up in the forum

Just did the RumX survey and realised afterwards something that is a problem for me: that a lot of posts and comments are in German.
Great community in many ways! Just wish I would be able to take part of more content :heart_hands:

You can just use the translate option left next to the hearts

You can use the button below to translate non-English posts. However it’s not always reliable, because it doesn’t show if the post contains English and another language mixed. Or atleast that’s my hypothesis.

That said I do agree that it sometimes feels a little excluding to read 100 lines of German and having to reply in English because my German is ziemlich schrecklich und auf dem gleichen Niveau wie Jean-Marie Pfaff.

That’s understandable and probably not the spirit of this community.
On the other side you could also just reply in French so that „we“ must use the translation as well.

But at last a bit more English won’t do any harm as well, as a mutual foundation :handshake:

People should feel comfortable to discuss in the language they feel they can express themselves best. I got to say, translate does help in a big way and I’ve never felt that replying to a post originally in German in English, gets ignored or not replied to (personal opinion). It’s a lovely community, and language is a small barrier to overcome in my view (with a lot of help from the translate button)
