When I opened the bottle for the split, it was very nice. But when compared side by side to one of the S.B.S it becomes quite obvious that it lacks the deeper flavours. The V&Ms profile is more like honey, not like this dark, almost burned caramel that I associate with Demerara sugar. Solid rum, but in the lower 80s where I rated the S.B.S with 90 points.

Ich habe gerade die drei neuen Long Pond von Colours of Rum verkostet und etwas interessantes festgestellt:
Mein Sample vom RX14118 (Long Pond 2001) weist ein deutliches Geschmacksprofil von Hampden auf. Auch die blasse Farbe deutet auf Hampden.
Kann das jemand mit einem Sample-Set bestätigen (@Serge looking at you 
)?

The 2001 should be a LP’S. The similarity between the Samples/Duchess Cask and the Tara Cask were pretty obvious.
The old continentally aged Hampden from 2001 is a <> H - the Ester count should be much higher than of the LPS.
Try to do a cross tasting with another 2001 LPS and the <>H

I compared with the Tara Spirits Long Pond 2001 and it is indeed quite similar but not that Hampden-forward. Possibly my Tagesform is disaligned

Super curious to hear your thoughts and rating of the nobilis. My bottle is pretty much lost by DPD since more then two weeks. Let’s see if it will ever arrive

I made some Mai Tai’s for family & friends yesterday night. Emptied a bottle of Navy Island Oloroso (RX9290)

It was just a very small bottom as a taster (it’s morning 
) and I drank it too fast, but I liked it.
Good value for money for a LP of that age if you compare it with the likes of the Rom de luxe wild series (and even the 15 year old ITP from the distillery, but that price is quite absurd).
I think my first impression score would be somewhere around 85.
Fingers crossed that your bottle should turn up

Before opening the HV DOK this week I wanted to re-taste the HV <>H and actually like it a bit more.

Received my HV DOK today and opened it right away. Will have to make various Mai Tai’s. I’m impressed by this bottling and my expectations are exceeded. 88 points for me and the Mai Tai is delicious.
