Dear community,
Over the past few months, we’ve been working intensively on a major redesign of the RumX app. This effort is based on the valuable insights from our big user survey at the end of last year, where one key takeaway became clear:
The structure of the user interface felt a bit confusing.
The vibrant community aspect wasn’t being leveraged enough.
We’ve taken this feedback to heart and have completely rethought the app’s structure to make it more intuitive and community-driven. Now, before we go live, we want your feedback to fine-tune everything and ensure the best possible experience for all!
Key Changes in the New RumX Design
The Heart of RumX is the Community
The “Community” tab is now the home page of the app. This creates a clear distinction:
• Everything related to ratings and community now lives in one place.
• Everything related to shopping has been grouped separately in the new “Shopping” tab.
Smarter & More Engaging Ways to Explore Tastings
Every month, thousands of tasting impressions are shared in RumX. To make them easier to browse, we’ve created new ways to consume and explore reviews:
Rum Charts (filterable by last 7, 14, 30, or 90 days)
• Trend: Rums with the most views in the app.
• Best: Top-rated rums, using a bayesian average (combining rating score + number of ratings).
• Most: Rums with the most ratings in the set period.
Last Tastings – A streamlined, easy-to-browse feed of recent ratings:
• All: Latest community-wide tastings.
• Friends: See what your friends are currently enjoying.
Top Raters – Spotlighting the most valuable tasting impressions over different periods. Only detailed and in-depth reviews count, ensuring quality discussions get the recognition they deserve.
Popular Ratings – The reviews with the most likes in a given timeframe. Never miss a great review again, and discover new users to follow!
Most Popular Topics in the Forum – Stay updated on trending discussions and the latest bottle releases in one glance.
We Need Your Feedback!
Before rolling this out to all users, we’d love to hear from you! Does the new structure make sense? Are there any features you’d like to see improved? Your input will help shape the final version before the go-live.
Let us know your thoughts!
Cheers,
Your RumX Team
