So
 ich habe leider grade kaum Zeit mal lÀnger als 5min am Handy zu sein
 daher recht kurz:

RX15322 war schon mein Highlight als TDL Fan. Einfach toller Rum

RX16799 war mein Hampden Highlight

RX16511 hat mich einfach voll geplĂ€ttet. Viel zu teuer aber wie sagte eine berĂŒhmte deutsche Band
 leider geil.

Die RX17126 hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt.

und natĂŒrlich die RX16024 
 hab den 97er noch nocht probiert. Das 35cl Konzept ist richtig gut. Gerne mehr davon.

EnttÀuschend fand ich vor allem RX15398 und RX15671.

Habe aber auch ziemlich viele Samples und Flaschen von 2023 einfach auch noch nicht verkostet. Der ruhige Abend zum gemĂŒtlichen Verkosten will nicht mehr so oft eintreten. Gut das Kinder grĂ¶ĂŸer werden :innocent::rofl::yum:

My highlights of the year are:

  1. Hampden 1990 The Whisky Jury RX16315
    What can I say
 the show of smoke tropical fruits and some sour notes, is amazing.
  2. Velier Royal Navy RX26
    So big and balanced, great stuff.
  3. Clarendon 1995 Colours of Rum RX14120
    Waves of mint, bbq, wood. It never stops. Thanks @Serge for the sample.

Honorable mention:
World of esters RX12364
What a nice melony rum to enjoy on a summer day. Goes well in cocktails but I like to sip it as well. This is my surprise of the year.

RX13722 war fĂŒr mich ein echtes Highlight aus 2023. Da war ich echt dankbar das ich diese RaritĂ€t im Tasting von der RumX-Monatsverlosung verkosten durfte.

Global auf meine Verkostungen bezogen sag ich auch RX5372 und da muss ich mal wieder Rodolphe danken. :hugs:Wahnsinnig spannender Rum. Großes Kino. :tumbler_glass:

Das sind Mal meine zwei picks fĂŒr den Moment.

Da muss ich dir beipflichten, der RX5372 ist ein Knaller, hatte von Caldon ein sample abschnorren können. Klasse Teil. Den nenne ich jetzt nochmal zusÀtzlich.
Aber leider keine Flasche mehr zu bekommen :frowning_face:

The bielle blanc from swell RX16236 with lots of green notes. thx to armagnac.de bringing this rhum to bad homburg !

Also the Hampden 2007 c💎h RX15196 from the whisky jury.
The pineapple with vanilla and easy sipping combo work perfect with me. thx to chris2302 for the sample !

Clarendon 1997 from Rum Sponge RX15606 & Fine Drams Clarendon 1997 where also highlights to remember.

missing The Whisky Jury HD 1990 in the list which i did not try.

some put the rum from the cask in the bottles.
others split the bottles again and share.

Richtig cool! GlĂŒckwunsch zur sehr verdienten, konstanten Reichweitensteigerung @Oliver und @Jakob und jedem/jeder, die sonst noch viel Arbeit und Herzblut in die App stecken!

Durch den Umfang der Datenbank und die rege BewertungsaktivitĂ€t dĂŒrfte das Ranking ja auch einigermaßen reprĂ€sentativ sein. Schön, dass es auch außerhalb des Forums auf Resonanz stĂ¶ĂŸt :tumbler_glass::handshake::sunglasses:

I still have to taste a lot of the '23 hyped releases. Too many samples, too little time. So my top 3 is probably a little skewed:

  1. RM TDL '01 | RX15322
  2. TWJ TDL '03 | RX15670
  3. Nobilis Clarendon '04 | RX16841

I do maintain that the Nobilis Clarendon was slept on. Only saw it mentioned once in this thread. :smiley:

RX15670 was/ is very good TDL. The price was also good compared with the Nobilis TDLs for example. That way i also liked the RX15401. One of the few good Artesanal bottles this year. Sad to see them go down. Haven’t tasted the new HD 1990. So i hope they come back without all that herbal stuff :sweat_smile::wink:

RX16712 really stood out to me, also the rums of Ron del Artesano.
Not on a taste note but generally the Hampden 8 marks collection was a blast, all the information and smaller sized bottles made it perfect for any rum enthusiast. Would love to see more of it!

Hard to find only one release of the year!
This year has been my Clarendon year, with really great new & old releases I found very good!
Of course, the Fine Drams 97 (RX16023) & 95 (RX16024) and the Sponge 97 (RX15606) are in my top of the year too, though their important alcohol rate. In the older releases, the 94 MMW from Plantation/LMDW is just excellent (RX10637)!
The 2 last Plantation + LMDW Jamaican releases from the Live are very high quality (and nice prices), very good rums! RX17315 & RX17313.

In the low price but qualitative rums, I’ve been nicely surprised by the Shakara for 50€ (RX17382), the new Appleton Reserve 15 y.o black river for 60€/65€ (RX9992), which is far better than the others (12yo, 8yo).

There are still lot of 2023 releases that are waiting to be tasted in my cabinet! Maybe some of thems could be in the top 5 of the year. I’m thinking to some agricoles : the Bally 2007 V&B is waiting for another try, but on my first try, I found it very good!

In the crazy prices category, the RX17348 is an impressive agricole, tasted very briefly in the live. But the price is just wtf


I agree on that. A year without real surprise in the rum world. We can get a bit bored.

I’'ve been nicely surprised by the La Maison Du Whisky Rhum Cambodia (Flag Series) 2018 5yr 56,5% | RX17324 | RumX, waiting to taste it another time and to see more Asian releases with their own style.

Moin, der beste diesen Jahres war der Caroni 1994 von Velier (RX147). Einfach der Hammer.
