I was there last year and unfortunately the event was very whisky focused. Less than 10% was rum and what little rum they carried was primarily from the standard ranges à la Original Darks and Doorly 12’s. It was fun, but I was more than a little disappointed and even left early.
For example: Blackadder was there as well last year and they carried a single bottle of rum, which I bottle killed in two pours.

No first hand experience yet, as this year will be my first time visit. With the presence/boots of Famille Ricci, CDI & Planteray who only carry rum I would expect to see more rum. (Hope new Ten cane release from Ricci
). Although I’m not expecting to find a LP or Hampden 83
On the other hand as it’s a general spirits festival, sound logic that the majority is whisky oriented as rum is more of a niche. Same story in liquor stores, where 80% is whisky and 20% rum (if lucky).
On a personal note, as I’m also into whisky and a Glenallachie/Billy Walker fanboy no issues there. But this is more for another Forum
Unfortunately no more Salon du Rhum, I would have loved to visit…
Anyways, I’ll report back.
