Upcoming rum releases

Immer wieder ein Erlebnis wie lange so ne Flasche manchmal braucht. Aber vor Weihnachten wird’s bestimmt noch was

Das mit dem Vergleich macht Sinn. Jetzt bereue ich den nicht Kauf. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: :see_no_evil_monkey:
Hab mein sample doch schon leer. :grimacing:

Aber worlds oldest is ja Quatsch wenn ich mir so manche 70Y+ Kuba releases anschaue… Typisches Marketing Blabla der Artikel :joy:

It depends how the manufacturer can use the time spent in casks om the label of the bottles.
In the whisky industry in the EU and UK, only the youngest whisky may be used for an age statement. In port wine, it’s some sort of an average which is used.

If one would be allowed to use the oldest whisky that is in a vatting or a blend, then it’s “relatively easy” to use 70+.

But don’t think that it would be an honour to drink a spirit that was in a first fill / fresh cask for 70 years. It would be too woody. I know that Glenfarclas uses 4th fill casks for this, where the wood is not that active.

No clue what Appleton used. With such a climate, I think they must have used almost drained casks, which were not treated (hence not charred or toasted).

To me, the article finally shows some humbleness from someone in the Scotch whisky industry to other spirits. This alone is already very positive

Also probably they use some kind of reracking in Cuba meaning they’re consolidating multiple casks into one over the years. Here this is the same cask that went all over from the beginning so I guess that’s what they mean…

Any idea from where the MAIC10 mark comes from?
Edit : Beenleigh, same year as RX15566 and RX20515

The ad ridden nature of Forbes.com says it all. The article, which is just a PR piece, is barely readable because of all the pop ups.

Forbes is notorious for ill informed lists and “hot”takes that rarely have any reflection of the genuine enthusiasm around quality releases. Their audience is wealthy business folks looking to buy their way into credibility without actually investing any real time or energy.
