So, ich bin jetzt auch endlich mal irgendwo PRO(fessional). 
Ich teile die Meinung einiger hier, natürlich ist finanzieller Support notwendig für den Betrieb der Plattform, nur sollte man meiner Meinung nach für das langfristige Wachstum nicht zu viele Funktionen hinter der Paywall verstecken, die die App bzw. das Forum erst zu dem machen, was es aktuell ist.
Denn neue Nutzer werden kaum gleich für die App bezahlen sondern erst, wenn sie die App und das Forum und die Community kennen und lieben gelernt haben.
Komfortfunktionen, besondere Giveaways/Verlosungen oder einen Discount auf Merchandise könnte ich mir gut vorstellen für Supporter. Aber der wesentliche Kern bzw. das was die ganze Sache ausmacht sollte auch für neue Nutzer frei verfügbar sein. My 2 cents.

Seien wir mal ehrlich: Die Free-Funktionen der App sind auch jetzt so dermaßen umfänglich und hilfreich, dass die App ohnehin alternativ- und konkurrenzlos ist, wenn es um Rum geht.
Ganz stark vereinfacht, finde ich finde es völlig legitim zusagen: “Bisher konntet ihr alle Funktionen gratis nutzen, aber wenn die Sache langfristig finanzierbar sein soll, müsst ihr für bestimmte Funktionen ab jetzt zahlen.”
Und durch die monatliche Kündbarkeit geht man nicht mal ein finanzielles Risiko ein.
Wer wirklich aktuelle Marktpreise will, kann sie entweder selbst mühsam recherchieren, oder sich die Zeit sparen und ein Paar Euro latzen.

Dieser Stein ist ja auch deshalb ins rollen gekommen, weil wir (die Nutzer der App) nach einer Möglichkeit der Unterstützung gefragt haben. Im Sinn hatten die Meisten und auch ich wohl eine Donation-Funktion wo jeder selbst den Zeitpunkt und den Betrag wählen kann.
Ich bin mit der jetzigen Lösung jedenfalls sehr zufrieden und hoffe, dass so eine dauerhaft tragfähige Finanzierung zustande kommt.

Through RumX I saved ( and will save) way more than 50 bucks per year. Potentially this app saved me from buying dozens of bad bottles.
And I’m more than happy that I can contribute and give something back.

regarding this discussion, I’ve read a lot that is simply untrue „I can’t see the score, I can’t take part in the split“ I think out of fairness we should Stop doing this.

If we love the app and its functions enough then we should be happy to pay the subscription, pretty simple, there arnt many free breakfasts in this world and oliver needs to make this work financially.
I do agree that a paywall could be a deterance to new comers, why not give newcomer’s full access as a trial (and make them aware that this is an initial free trial period) for a period of time after they sign up, say 2-4 months, so they can see how good it is for themselves, then the subscription might not be such a barrier as they can see value in it when the trial period finishes. If they arnt willing to pay at that point then they drop back to ‘restricted’ use.

Man sollte das ganze vielleicht mal aus einem anderen Blickwinkel betrachten.
Nicht dass man das Geld für eine App zahlt, sondern eher als Mitgliedsbeitrag in einem “Verein”.
Vielleicht tut sich da der ein oder andere leichter damit. 
Wenn man so nachdenkt, wieviel Leute sind stilles Mitglied in einem Verein und haben nichts davon?!

I believe it’s important for us, as a community, to make sure we don’t create a divide here. Whether you’re a pro or not, we should treat each other equally. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the prominent tag, but I get that it might need some perks. You have my money anyways
