Pro-sheep
What about a little sheep instead the PRO-Badge
A pro sheep!
As far as I’m concerned, I’m in favor of supporting the app.
Two disturbing things:
- the word “pro”, I’d prefer something else. A pro can like a rum, give an excellent review, but it’s not a “professional” opinion, just a personal taste. Example: the large number of times I don’t agree at all with Serge Valentin, I just don’t have the same tastes! I respect his tastes, mine aren’t bad tastes because I’m not a professional blogger, just different.
- the lists function should remain in the free version, as it was before, at least for a certain number of lists.
I agree. The functionality that is free/pro needs maybe a bit more balancing.
User prices should remain visible in free mode – otherwise what’s the incentive for free users to enter their prices? The paywall could lead to less data being available to everyone. Auction prices however is a nice pro feature. But user prices are supplied by users and should remain accessible to all.
How about instant access to hidden areas in the forum for pro users? Without the conditions that normally apply?
Maybe even an additional “pro-corner”.
I second the notion that “pro” as in “professional” can be misleading and maybe even harmful in the sense that it may be misunderstood as “commercial” activity. Supporter, patron, subscriber … all those are taken but reflect the idea better than “pro”. The “pro” badge has mixed reviews and I also agree. How about just a star badge? Sais “I’m special” without saying “I’m a professional”. Or maybe a collection of badges to choose from (if that’s possible with the discourse software):
Well said and i totally agree. With those changes i would also participate.
Totally agree. I am having the exact same opinion on the user prices. And I don’t like how the Pro-Status is displayed in the app as well. Shouldn’t be gold and shouldn’t be called pro. If these two things change, I will enter the subscription, but for now it doesn’t feel right to me.
I am a newbie to the app, and to a large extent to rum as well (really got into it 2 years ago). Wish I’d joined sooner though, made quite a bit of bad choices in buying rum that could’ve been avoided if I had access to the app earlier.
I totally appreciate that @Oliver needs to make this commercially viable, so I fully support it. I am certain 2-3 good purchases of rum based off advice on the forum and it’ll be an easy RoI for me at least.
PS: Keen to see what new features are in store.
Great thought! I’ve just opened a separate topic for this and am happy to hear your opinions:
As of next month I’ll support Olivier also.
Many of us here are in IT and know that an app/website/hobby project can put strain on your financial situation as well as on the personal/private level. Keep up the good work!
@Oliver can you please have another look at the ‘forum disappearing within app’ issue I reported ?
Dont get me wrong, this is in no way a condition to become ‘Plus’ but it would really up the experience.
It’s a REALLY annoying issue…
Thank you for your feedback, Lukas. I have created a new topic regarding the bug in order to better isolate the problem:
Really appreciate this app and how well it’s designed and maintained. Happy to support!
@Oliver really like the RX+ over the PRO and as well the fruitful discussion that led to the change.
Just a small note, the PRO badge still appears on the profile in the tasting notes section
Thanks for your feedback, X!
Where do you still see the PRO badge?
Download that latest app from the store, I had the same issue and an update solved it
thanks Kevin, that solved the issue!
Just as a side note, as I just tried the buy option in the app for the first time: maybe make the info about the delivery code (i. E. DHL and whatever, so we can find the status and possible arrival date easier) in the app mandatory for shops.
